With our extensive knowledge and experience in the fabric business, we are happy to provided estimates for your fabrication or upholstery needs. However, our estimates for the yardage needed for your project, are just that: estimate. We also recommend purchasing a few extra yards for insurance, especially if the repeat of the pattern is large.

Since we have not measured your specific project, we cannot be responsible for the accuracy of our estimates. For best results, consult a sewing or upholstery professional or come see us in the store today.

HOW TO ESTIMATE YARDAGE WITH REPEATS

To estimate the correct yardage when the vertical repeat is 1/2″ – 27″, add the horizontal repeat to the vertical repeat. For example: A fabric with a 10″ vertical repeat and a 14″ horizontal repeat would have a 24″ total repeat. Thus, if a chair takes 8 yards of 54″ plain fabric, a 54″ fabric with a 24″ total repeat would need 20% more fabric for the same chair, or approximately 9.5 yards.
